A COSTCO member has praised the big box retailer for its stellar customer service.
The user commended the member-only supermarket chain on Reddit for a convenient refund process.

“Still pretty much in shock, but delighted with the experience,” they wrote.
They explained how they had been a Costco member for 10 years.
In all that time they only remembered returning two items, one of which was a food product with a broken seal.
This time they anticipated a more complicated process but to their delight, it was as easy as ever.
CAM CASH BACK
The shopper said they purchased a security camera system for their home in April.
They left it in its packaging for a while but finally installed six out of the eight cameras.
“Just a few weeks ago, I went to review some video footage and the system was so laggy it was mostly unusable,” they wrote.
They knew other Costco customers had luck with returning items based on previous posts they had read on the r/Costco subreddit.
So they decided it couldn’t hurt to check if the store would take the system back.
“One of the girls at the return counter had a quick chat with who I assume was a supervisor and they said they would,” they said.
DOUBLE TAKE
The user practically had to pinch themself to believe the process could be so simple.
Since their cameras were high on their house’s second story, they took a second trip to Costco to confirm they were correctly informed.
They got the same answer but still had a small hint of skepticism, worrying one of the cameras or cables wouldn’t be exchangeable.
“Nope,” they wrote. “Just a ‘Can I see your membership card’ and ‘Please swipe or tap the card you want the refund to.'”
They were thrilled they didn’t get any pushback when they brought all the items to the store.
The Costco member showed an employee a video from their phone displaying the spotty security footage as a reason for return.
“He typed in the explanation and I was out the door in probably three minutes,” they said. “100% impressed.”
The worker accepted their request and asked them to swipe or tap a card to have their refund applied.
“That’s pretty much the norm for Costco returns,” one Reddit user replied.
“It’s one of the main reasons they have so much customer loyalty.”
COSTCO RETURNS
Costco states it has a “risk-free 100% satisfaction guarantee” policy.
On its site, it says they’ll refund your purchase price with a few exceptions, such as television, diamonds, alcohol, and special order kiosk programs, to name a few.
Products bought at a Costco location or online can be returned at the returns counter at any Costco warehouse.
RETAIL ROUNDUP
Dollar Tree recently announced shoppers can expect some major changes they may not love.
The company plans to raise prices to $7 for over 300 items while closing underperforming stores.
“We are especially excited about the next phase of our multi-price expansion strategy,” Dollar Tree’s CEO said in an earnings call.
“Dollar Tree [is] continuously working on new ways to deliver value while expanding our assortment across a wider range of price points.”
But it’s not all bad news — The store plans to continue offering products at its original $1.25 price point.
It’s expanding its inventory and offerings to include items up to $7.
Product categories include food, snacks, personal care, and pet care.
