I used to work at Burger King – there’s a special way we store burgers after they’re cooked to keep it from ‘drying out’

WHOPPER lovers are in for an alarming revelation — and it’s packed with juiciness.

A self-proclaimed ex-Burger King worker spilled several store secrets about the fast food franchise.

The user (DJ-Funtime-Foxy) shared their claims on a subreddit r/offmychest.

They started the post by noting their former location was very close to Burger King’s corporate staff.

“Your burger tastes extra juicy?” they asked.

“Guess what! Once a tray of patties is done, we use their old grease to put on even older patties! It’s to keep it from drying out.”

They claimed staff would use water instead of grease for an “impossible” Whopper, Burger King’s vegan option.

But the grease confession was the tip of the iceberg.

NASTY PATTIES

“The food is just nasty in general,” the Redditor wrote.

They said the flame-grilled broiler “never gets cleaned.”

Vegan and regular patties were allegedly cooked on the same grill.

“Everything else goes in a fryer and goes in disgusting and comes out disgusting,” they wrote.

The fryers, they claimed, were cleaned around once a week, but sometimes less often because “we were so understaffed.”

UNDERSTAFFED

The Redditor said that based on their state of residence, Burger King stores were supposed to have 35 employees at a time.

But at their store, they claimed there were only four to 15 on average.

They also said many ingredients weren’t properly stored.

When employees cut up onions and tomatoes, the extra that wasn’t being used would be put into the refrigerator.

“But the stuff we are [using] sits at room temperature until the container is empty,” they wrote.

They said this was the case for bacon, mayonnaise, and stacker sauce.

One of the most shocking confessions they made was that most employees didn’t wear gloves.

They said only cooks were required to wear them, but front employees bagging the food didn’t have to.

Also, they claimed workers would save unused burgers for later orders.

“Say we have an extra Whopper with no tomatoes,” they wrote.

“You order a Whopper with cheese. We take that, put tomatoes on it, then a slice of cheese, and bam.”

The U.S. Sun reached out to Burger King requesting a comment.

MORE ON FOOD

A former Chipotle employee also revealed to her followers why they often get puny portions of meat in their burrito bowls.

On TikTok, she said workers had no control over how much meat they would give customers because managers kept a close watch.

The managers would cross-reference the remaining meats with what was sold by the day’s end, measuring by the ounce.

“We’re sorry, but it’s not our fault,” the ex-worker said.

She even claimed she sometimes would receive warnings from her manager when she arrived for her shift.
