One Facebook user said Taco Bell’s Agua Refrescas are a dupe of Starbucks’ refresher drinks (stock image)[/caption]

The “Agua Refresca” energy drinks will only sell for a limited time in Irvine, California.

They come in three options:

  • Passionfruit
  • Peach Mango
  • Dragonfruit Berry

Flavors come in a 16-ounce cup and cost $3.99.

Note the fruit is freeze-dried and there’s artificial coloring in the drinks.

“We want to make our beverages just as iconic as our food,” said Taco Bell’s Chief Marketing Officer Taylor Montgomery.

“Our new Agua Refrescas are a perfect, vibrant pairing with everything our fans crave from Taco Bell and will help us on our journey to make Taco Bell a beverage destination.”

Not all customers expressed enthusiasm about the refresher drinks as one social media user claimed the Agua Refrescas were copycats.

In a post from the food review account Snackolater, one Facebook user commented that the beverages resembled a Starbucks item.

“Not the Starbucks dupe,” they wrote.

The customer was likely referring to Starbucks’ refresher drinks.

They come in various flavors like Strawberry Acai, Pineapple Passionfruit, Dragon Drink, and more.

According to Starbucks, the drinks cost just under $5 for a grande size.

It isn’t clear whether Taco Bell rolled out the drinks as a dupe option to compete with Starbucks.

Taco Bell did not immediately respond to The U.S. Sun for a request to comment.

An executive for the company said the Agua Refrescas are meant to pair with food cravings.
