I’m an ex-Kohl’s employee – shoppers don’t realize ‘you can return anything’ anytime and you don’t need proof

AN EX-Kohl’s employee revealed a few cost-efficient shopping hacks.

The self-proclaimed former Kohl’s worker said she witnessed one shopper return a pair of shoes from years ago.

She also said there was no time limit for returning items, although some users said the policy switched to 180 days (stock image)[/caption]

TikToker Hannah (@hannahruthjones) shared her supposed hack for getting refunds on items.

“You can return anything,” she said, claiming, “It doesn’t matter how long it’s been.”

She recalled a customer who brought in worn shoes that were three years old.

She said the reason for returning was that the shoes no longer fit her child.

“Of course, they don’t fit your kid anymore!” Hannah said in her video.

“Doesn’t matter because they [Kohl’s] boast hassle-free returns, so go for it.”

COUPON CRAZE

Another secret Hannah revealed was that customers didn’t necessarily need physical copies of their coupons to apply deals.

She said the store cashier was able to scan it for a shopper or they could look for it on their phone through the Kohl’s app.

Hannah also said customers could’ve asked a store manager to activate a coupon if the cashier wasn’t helping.

She added that while some people got away with shoplifting crimes, undercover security guards observed the store to prevent this.

The U.S. Sun contacted Kohl’s to request a comment.

THE COMMENTS

Hannah’s video garnered opposing opinions from more Kohl’s workers.

“This is no longer true,” one user wrote. “Return policy has been changed.”

Another person echoed the user’s sentiments saying the return threshold was 180 days and that, “the system does not allow it.”

I support kindly abusing company policies when the company cares more about profits than appropriately paying their employees

One TikToker said they once had to accept a return on a moldy coffee pot.

“So disgusting,” Hannah replied. “But I support *kindly* abusing company policies when the company cares more about profits than appropriately paying their employees lol.”

One shopper asked Hannah if she’d need tags to return her shower curtain, and she said, “Nope! No tags needed.”

HASSLE-FREE

According to Kohl’s website, the quickest and easiest way to return a product for a refund is by bringing it to a local store.

“Our Hassle-Free Return Policy makes it easy for you to exchange items or receive a refund for most merchandise up to 180 days after the original purchase date,” Kohl’s says.

There are some exceptions — like for watches and premium electronics.

These items must be returned within 30 days of purchase with a valid receipt and original packaging.

Beauty purchases including Sephora products at Kohl’s must be returned within 60 days of purchase in new or gently used condition.

A holiday exception allows electronics, watches, or Sephora items bought after November 1 to be returned until January 31.

DEFECTIVE KICKS

Another TikToker revealed her return secret for Nike shoes.

Hayley told her followers she worked at a Nike store for five years and learned shoes were returnable if customers called them “defective.”

She claimed shoppers could return shoes with normal wear-and-tear during a year-long window to receive a gift card with store credit.

The U.S. Sun spills more store secrets to keep consumers in the loop.

An ex-Sephora worker explained why obsessive returning could lead to a customer getting their account flagged.

Meanwhile, a former Best Buy staffer said there’s a best time to buy TVs.
