One self-proclaimed employee said no-receipt returns contributed heavily to a backup on checkout lines.
RETURN DELAY
The Costco staffer commented that they work in the return department and begged shoppers to bring receipts.
“That’s why our lines are so long. If you can’t find your receipt that’s fine but please try to keep it,” they wrote.
“I have to look through years of receipts just to find it … that’s why the line is so long almost nobody has it.”
Another Reddit user said they got their whole purchase history sent to them by contacting support on Costco.com.

They confirmed shoppers with membership accounts could return items without receipts since the store keeps records of purchases.
